This guide describes how to save character costumes and how to upload them to the Legion site, and how to download and install character costumes for use in Mission Architect.
To Save and Upload Character Costumes:Log in to City of Heroes or City of Villains with the character whose costume you wish to save and upload. Visit a tailor. In the costume edit screen at the tailor, select the option to "Save" the costume design.
The saved costume will now be a file in the costumes directory in your City of Heroes folder. On most installations this will be in your program files folder.
The Liberty Legion site does not accept the .costume format that costumes are saved in on your computer so you will need to archive it to a .zip or .rar format. I recommend using .zip. Details of how to do this and how to upload it to the Legion site are available in
this thread.
Downloading and Installing Costume Files:Download and extract the file following the instructions in
this thread.
Once you have the costume file saved on your computer, move it to the costumes directory in your City of Heroes folder. On most installations this will be in your program files folder.
Now log in to City of Heroes/City of Villains and go to Mission Architect. When designing a custom character to use in a mission or arc, after you select the gender and body shape of the character and reach the costume screen, you should see an option to load a costume. Select this and you should see a list of the costume files in your costumes directory. Simply select the costume you wish to load to the custom character.
Note: at present the costume loading procedure seems to have some "issues". The costume editor may not accept or recognise some of the loaded costume items, even though they are in fact available in the editor. This does not seem to be a serious problem as you can get the broad costume outline by loading the saved file then edit the details so it looks right.
